Miles to go …Learning Center is an initiative to bridge the social gap in young children through measures such as Contextual language development and providing Exposure to the world beyond. It was established in the year 2007 in the vicinity of Vasant Kunj. The mission of the learning center is:

  • to give children an access to the world beyond.
  • bridge the social gap between them and the outer world.
  • contextual language development through theater and other activities.
  • skill development in the areas of technology ,expression and entrepreneurship.

My Unique story

An initiative where we invite successful people from diffrent profession to share their story of growth and struggle. We believe that such sharing definitely provide them inspiration, hope and strength.




 

Theatre & Music


We believe that theater and music are a powerful medium of developing language, expression, confidence and communication in children .So we are conducting theater workshop for these children twice in a week which Dinesh is leading and music class happens once a week which is led by Rakesh and Nilesh. Both these initiatives will lead to formation of a theater and music group.

 

The way ahead..

At present we are focusing on the above mentioned activities. Going forward we will be skilling them in the areas of technology, hospitality and others. And our motive is to learn and grow with them..

 

Language Development

Theater and music helps children to express. Also expressing self in english is the 'need of hour' and has 'functional value'. We are skilling youth in listening, speaking, reading and writing of English language.

The students in 'Miles to go...' were my students when they were in second standard and now they have reached class X. in these eight years we remained in touch through our ‘tea point meetings’ in Vasant Kunj an urban posh colony in South Delhi, India. As the time passed and teacher student relationship evolved the conversations also changed. From I ‘Telling them a interesting story’ our discussions grew to a stage where they started sharing their story of conflicts, crushes and sports competitions. Hidden in those meetings was the above story & which I dreamt but never thought that it would happen this way .

One of the days in April 2007 , when I along with few enthusiast friends took these children for an outdoors in Delhi, the idea of having a common place for these Children was conceived... and ‘Allive!’ was born, which has a younger brother ‘Miles to go…’
