Theatre
4 Learning- Real learning in the world of fantasy!
In today’s environment it is important
for a child to learn analytical fundamentals,
logical reasoning, along with ethical and moral
values.
Drama and Theatre can be a powerful tool that
helps in the process of learning, but it is
often perceived as either an expensive luxury
or irrelevant. Theatre uses powerful ways to
engage young people in education and a way for
schools to meet the requirements of cross-curricular
approach.
During
the theatre workshops at Allive, we try awakening
cognitive, social, emotional and physical windows
of the child’s well being. Through the
process of self-exploration and introspection,
the child realizes his/her true potential. The
child emerges as a confident learner ready to
face the challenges of the real world.

| The
Ensuring Engagement at the Workshops: |
During
the workshops we guide children about life skills
through drama/play, and also help them in developing
their language skills in a fun way. Children of age
groups from 6 – 18 years can be a part of these
workshops.
•
The ice-breaking and warm-up sessions for rapport
formation are exercises and activities essential for
team building and encouraging leadership and listening
in your child.
• Children discover the creative side of their
self through exposure to body movements, voice work,
mime, script building, enactments, improvisations,
story making, stage work, devising a play on their
own.
• We focus on helping the children understand
their own feelings and learning how to deal with them;
by exploring the BEST WITHIN THEMSELVES and recognizing
that each of them has a special quality and is unique
and beautiful in their own special way.
• Theatre games help enhance imagination and
creativity of children.
• We encourage children to learn about their
body and how to keep it healthy and safe by promoting
good hygiene and exercise habits through story-telling
techniques, enactments and improvisations.
• We help them learn about people near and far,
by modeling relationships in which people respect
each other, co-operate and resolve conflicts as they
play and work together. These workshops are not just
about performing a play on stage or about becoming
great actors, but they are a about the process of
self-exploration through which a child will DISCOVER
the BEST IN HIM/HER.
During the one month workshop children will be sensitized
to a sense of music, as well as dance movements, supported
by theatre.
We will explore rhythm and body movements through
music and experience it the way it occurs naturally
in our environment, encouraging the child to make
music of their own and using it as a means of expression.
Dance and movement encourage the children to explore
the flexibility of their bodies and communicating
ideas, feelings, moods and images.
